In reading the New Testament you do get the sense that the early Church was much more subversive then the Church we have today. It seems to me like what you are doing now is pleasing to God. In reading the New Testament you do get the sense that the early Church was much more subversive then the Church we have today.

Teaching that Jesus fulfilled the law on our behalf, and that we are free from its bondage would certainly tend to subvert the teaching of Jewish Religious leaders, most of whom were Pharisees.
