Purple – yes, that’s very much how I see it too. There are lots of things in the Bible that I like. But I really appreciate the freedom of being able to reject what I don’t like.

Hey helen, I can relate. I also remember a lot of what the bible has to teach, and by seeing it as writen by men, I don’t have to throw out the baby with the bath water. I also do not fear being a cherry picker, because it is not my scripture. I se it like Shakespeare, many people will quote a line of the great bard, if it fits a situation, but you don’t have to believe everything he ever wrote.

I was being intentionally provocative when I wrote that sentence – but at the same time I meant it very seriously.
