Excellent post! I truly believe, based partly upon my own experience, that religion blinds people from knowing the love and grace of God. We’re taught to look no further than the doctrinal parameters of our church for knowledge of God. Too, the IC emphasizes bringing people in, in to stay, instead of sending them out to expand the circle of God’s love. I believe a parallel can be drawn with the passage in Ezekiel (16:23-33), which speaks of a whoring Israel building a high place in every street, a whore who “gives gifts” to her lovers to entice them to come in unto her. Does this not smack of commercial religion with its offers of fun and games and coffee and cookies?

Thank you for your observations. I can tell they are a result of much time spent in contemplation.

These are some very good points. It articulates what I’ve been feeling for quite some time now. I do believe that the IC is doing more harm than good.

Simply I believe the answer is yes, who was it that planted the tares, good post my friend, yet this must happen…so very sad

"recruit" and "volunteer" A LOT. We brainstormed lots of creative ways to get people to volunteer for the grunt work of the church.
