howabout,

I grieve with you that you were so hurt by those that would call themselves christians.

If I may encourage you, please do not think that they represent God or Jesus! God loves you with great passion, and desires to have a relationship with you! You do not have to attend "Church Services" to have that relationship. Our relationship with Him is not based on what sins we do or don't do, what we've confessed or not, what we've asked for forgiveness for or not. What 'service' we perform or not. He loves us with passion, without regret, He cannot love us more, and will not love us less!!

You say you read the Bible sometimes, get a Bible that is translated into a modern language, like NIV or the Message, if you do not already, and do read it.

Jesus sums up the whole of Christianity as this "Love God with all your heart and your neighbor the same" (paraphrased). That's it. It's not about church attendance, works, and the like. Love God, and know that He loves you. Then Love your neighbor, with a true love, not based on conditions, like the IC does. Then you may have an opportunity to tell them how much God loves you and them as well.

I have been out of the Institutional Church for over 3 years now and know Gods love more then ever, and Love Him more then I ever have!

I encourage you to seek God, Love Him, know that He loves you.
