My story is also similiar, (not surprising, since God speaks to His peeps all at once!)
There are so many false teachings in the physical church, God took me out years ago and only sends me back in to teach me or give someone a message. It can be very isolating(you who are married, count yourself blessed!) but He is teaching me to rest only in Him, and not to care about being called a “false prophet”, a “Jezabel”, or whatever other nicknames they have for me. *grins*. I hear “deceived” a lot. I feel that God has been tolerant long enough, but that He is calling His Chosen out, and that finally, we’ll be able to tell the wheat from the tares. I no longer call myself “Christian” since it is just another religion that God hates. His people will come from every tongue and religion where he spread them.
I’d like someone’s input on this….if they have also heard from God that He is calling His people out from “religion” before He destroys it. Makes sense, He calls His out before destroying “something”, but marks the foreheads of His before destroying His enemies. All I know is that as more and more Chosen leave the physical church, it gets darker and darker and more evil.
Lately, I feel God’s anger….the “period” of grace is about to end. Get ready to be hated. Tick-tock.

Well said! My husband and I left the institutional church in 2007. We went from years in a Baptist church (where I worked for 9 years), to a Word of Faith Church, to finally an Independent Charismatic Church. We’ve seen it all. The politics, the “let’s put God in a box,” to shoveling leadership’s sin under the rug and not dealing with it to having installed an ATM in your family life center so you can have easy access to your money kind of thing!

All the while God continually tried to bring them to a higher level in Him only to be put back in that box called religion! We just got so disgusted with it all that we just left. We love God with all of our hearts, but we hate the junk in an instituional church.

It’s been a wonderful 2 1/2 years of freedom. Just loving HIm and Him loving us. We know that He will connect us with His body. In the meantime, we wait.

Your story was very encouraging. We have a similar one. I love your analogy using the box – how true it is that in the box you don’t know you are in it and you can’t understand those on the outside – well said.

I am in a similar spiritual journey. I too, have decided to leave the institutional church and step outside the box. I’m not sure where my journey will ultimately take me, but I know this much. I can no longer in good conscience ignore the shortcomings of the institutional church. I am praying for God to lead me to a group of like-minding Christians in my area.

What a beautiful testimony from someone who discovered the tender hand of God while they were searching for a church community to be a part of, only to recognize the community was all around them. My family is in a similar situation and we have also recognized that God is near wherever we are.
