Sparta, I appreciate you contributing this letter. It is obvious through reading that there is a great burden of anger and frustration on you from your experiences and I hope and pray that you can be free of that.

I wrote this based on things I was feeling before, based on my journal. I no longer have those hard feelings I was feeling. Not even when I wrote this. Though it is a shorter, more concise version, that gets out the emotion and what I was thinking.
Lol, I don’t need anyone to pray for me. It will be useless, as no one will hear. I’m free completely from my prior beliefs. Now, I just deal with parents with them.

well, they are still praying I suppose
whatever that means. they also are convinced that the reason for why you are like this lies in you being gay. of course. to them you are in bondage and deceived, not a free thinking, beautiful spirit who has had the guts to express his feelings. you have to feel for them, because they have learned that there is a simple answer to every complex human feeling and a reason for everything that happens. they also still hope that God will turn you around. i know they do, coz I have to sadly admit that I have been there, done it and bought the tshirt…
And you know, you are actually right. If mans account of who God is (in this case the bible) then he is actually a cruel dictator who sits in heaven waiting for all of us to revere him. Now honestly, do we really revere someone who is demanding our reverence above everything else? Would the creator of the universe really be so self absorbed and vain that he could find so much pleasure in desperate human beings acknowledging that they are dust?
Christians, you feel oh so superior to believe that your sacrificing time to go on your knees for a ‘lost sinner’ like this one pleases your God? have you ever imagined if your almighty all seeing and all knowing God is as narrow minded as you think he is? think about it: if there indeed is a God who is magnificent enough to create the universe, he can impossibly be what the bible makes him to be at the same time. The God of the bible seems to me more like a human construct, who, though staying the same person changes his appearance due to the culture we live in. In the old testament he is depicted as someone the Jews of the time can relate to: He is ONE and only speaks to and reveals himself to a few chosen leaders, whom the rest of the people have to believe whatever they say. He chose them above all other peoples, wipes out their enemies and allows – no actually requests – cruelest punishments for everyone that trespassed societies rules! And then, in the new testament, he divides him self up in father son and spirit and now reaches all mankind having changed to this all loving, all forgiving tangible God who wants a relationship with EVERY SINGLE PERSON ALIVE and spends his time grieving over every lost soul! Again, he chooses a particular group though, as we all like to be part of a chosen group, He supposedly left the Jews behind which explains the holocaust and the atrocities happening in the middle east but leaves a door open for the newly appointed chosen ones to bring them back to their senses)
oh my…

Comparing God to Stalin- and you say you’ve only hated one thing- God. You really, really need to read more about Stalin. Me thinks you’ll hate him too, if you know more. You can start with “The Court of The Red Tsar” by Montefiore. Those posts about praying for you- it’s meant in kindness. Even atheists should understand that prayer works on an individual’s heart. Allow people to express themselves in the best way they can. I hope (aka pray) that you continue to exercise the moral judgement you mysteriously posses. It has caused you to think that God doesn’t exist. It makes me think He does. I can’t swallow the atheist’s mythic soup we came from.
